Make sure your printer is calibrated, and that the label sensor is clean. Search this knowledgebase or consult your user manual for specific calibration instructions for your Brady printer. See the list below for popular articles that resolve calibration issues.
Manual Calibration Printers
These printer models require manual calibration. This issue is more common on these models, as users are often unaware that manual sensor adjustment is required every time a new label size is loaded.
Printers That Do Not Require Calibration
These printer models do not require manual calibration, however the sensors may need to be cleaned. There is also one sliding sensor that must be positioned in the edge of the label liner for notched labels:
Portable
If the last label is a blank label, the printer may have a second label that was created. Select function and clear to erase all labels created. Recreate your label and try printing again.
If you are using batteries or the rechargeable battery, try powering the printer with the AC Power Supply.
Print Driver
The label size can also be chosen in the Driver. Verify the correct setting is selected: Driver Page Size Settings for Brady Software vs 3rd Party Software.
Complete a Test Print in the Driver:
- Open Printers & Scanners on your computer.
- Select the printer model.
- Select Manage.
- Select Print a test page.
Software
Verify the correct label size is selected in the software's label file. After calibration, this is the second most common cause of printers feeding blank labels or labels skipping.
