BBP72 - How to Align Print and Tips for Best Print
Body
Note: When performing a feed test, the BBP72 will feed about 6 inches of blank material in order to calibrate the top and bottom print heads. This is expected behavior for this printer: BBP72 Feeding Blank Labels Before Each Print Job
The BBP72 must be calibrated so the printer knows where the TOF (Top Of Form) is (top of the page, top of the label). The sensor must be centered over the rectangle cut out between the tractor feed holes (used in manufacturing) and the sleeves. You want to try making the data center as much as possible on the two different sides, but you will never get both sides to be the exact center at the same time due to the tolerance levels and mechanics of the two printheads.
Sensor Location
Sensor Position
Note: If you are unable to move the sensor position, you may need to loosen a hex screw that fastens the sensor into position.
Adjustments in the software control print offset on the bottom printhead which prints to the bottom sleeve.
Note: A vertical offset of 0.05 is often required when printing in standard mode, a vertical offset of -0.05 is required when printing in Reverse mode.

2. To make a permanent adjustment in Brady Workstation, go to the Label Settings app > Printing Adjustments > Add the label part and enter the adjustment. Click the Save diskette to save the adjustment. New label files created with this printer and part combination will automatically apply this adjustment. For more information about adding offsets to labels in BWS see: How to Adjust Printing Position in Brady Workstation.
If you make an offset on the Printer itself, it will adjust the print on the top sleeve printed with the top printhead. The adjustment that works best on most labels is setting the offset to 2 or 3 mm.
