J5000 - How to Install Label Stock and Ink Cartridges
Body
Installing Labels in the J5000
1. With the printer on, open the cover of your printer.
2. If there is currently label stock in the printer, instead of pulling on the label material to remove press the Pause/Unload button on the front panel and wait for the printer to back feed the label material before removing.
3. Flip the roll guide down and pull the Roll Guide towards the right side of the printer ( if necessary)
4. Ensure that the label roll to be installed has the labels coming off the top of the spool towards the front of the printer. Slide the core of the labels through the roll arm all the way to the roll stop. Push the roll guide to the right side of the core of the labels until flush and flip the roll guide so that it locks.
5. Pull the front edge of the label material forward next to the throat guide and stop. At this point adjust the guide to the to the edge of the label stock. Ensure the throat guide is placed to the edge of the material so that it is snug but not too snug to pinch the backing.
6. Once the throat guide is in place, push the front edge of the material until it hits the roller inside. At this point the printer's fan should fire up. It is recommended to hold the label to the roller and not release until the roller grabs the label. A loop will then be created underneath the label roll's spool and the label material will feed and cut.
If using die-cut material (as picture in this example), the printer will feed and cut one label. This is necessary for calibration and will occur each time label material is loaded in the printer. If using continuous material, about an inch of label material will be cut when loading.
