Error 49 - Error Reading Media Memory Cell
Note: A number of materials are no longer compatible with the BBP30, BBP31, BBP33 model printers. Attempting to use these materials may cause a number of error codes, including "Error reading media memory cell" or "invalid supply" error. Issue
This error indicates that the printer cannot read/write to the tape's smart cell on the BBP30, BBP31, BBP33, BBP35, BBP37 and S3700 printer.
Troubleshooting
- Open the cover and install tape cartridge correctly:
- Try another roll of tape and/or try power cycling the printer.
- If error persists, check the contact pins in the label roll bay. If they appear damaged, contact Brady technical support for your region: Global Brady Technical Support (Contact Information) with your serial number.
Note: The BBP30, BBP31, and BBP33 printer is obsolete and no longer supported: Obsolete Brady Printers - No longer supported or repaired.
- Clean the sensors:
- S3700 Only - Confirm the material has the V:2 chip design. You will receive this message if you are using V1 materials. The S3700 only works with V2 materials: V2 Chip Redesign for B30 Series Materials.
