Unable to Activate Brady Software

This article covers common problems that prevent successful activation registration of Brady software. This article assumes the user has their license ID and password. If you are having difficulty locating your license information, please see this article: How to Find Your Brady Software License.

Common Activation Issues

 

• Firewalls - Some firewalls will block necessary traffic to Brady's activation servers: Firewall Whitelisting Required to Activate LabelMark and Brady Workstation Online.
• FIPS - LabelMark is not currently compatible with FIPS requirements, however the Spring '21 release of Brady Workstation is compatible with FIPS-enabled systems: Can Brady Workstation or LabelMark 6 Run On a PC with FIPS Enabled?.
• User Rights - LabelMark and Brady Workstation often require admin rights to write license information to the Windows registry: Microsoft UAC - Run as Admin.
• "No Activations Remaining" Errors - Per the EULA, LabelMark and BWS licenses can be legally activated on one PC at a time. See this article instructions to recover or transfer your license to a new PC: Managing Your Licenses in the Brady Software Self-Service Portal.
• "No Activations Remaining" Error or "Invalid License ID or Password" Error when there are activations remaining and both License ID & Password are correct and are being applied to the app or suite the license if for - If you look in the Brady Workstation.log file and find the phrase "Can not load identifiers for BiosUuidIdentifierAlgorithm", the software activation function cannot find the PC's motherboard's serial number, which usually indicates the PC is a Virtual Machine, which violates our license policy: "No activations available" or "Invalid License ID or Password" errors When Attempting to Activate in a Virtual Machine.
• "The license file contains some or all of the invalid arguments" error in LabelMark 6: "The license file contains some or all the invalid arguments" in LabelMark 6.

Brady Workstation Apps and Suites Activation Issues

These issues are specific to Brady Workstation.

• Invalid License Error - Make sure you downloaded the correct suite for your license: Brady Workstation - Invalid License error.
• LabelMark 6 Upgrade Suite Users - You must have an activated installation of LM6 on your PC in order to activate the LM6 Upgrade Suite: LabelMark Upgrade Suite Requires Activated LM6 Installation.
• No Option to Activate - Users who install Brady Workstation from a hard disk will be installing an outdated version of the software. Update Brady Workstation and then try activating: How to Update Brady Workstation.
