Issue
If you are experiencing faint print on the labels the issue may be due to the following:
- Incorrect ribbon & label combination is the most common cause.
- Print energy might be too low.
- Ribbon not advancing correctly.
- Ribbon or label material may be defective or shelf life may be expired. If it is due to bad material, it is because the material was exposed to high heat and/or humidity.
Troubleshooting
- Check the label material to ensure the correct ribbon series is being used:
- Clean the print head and platen roller with alcohol:
- Tension the ribbon by rotating the rewind spindle (top spool) in a downward direction until all slack is removed.
- Try another ribbon, if available.
- Adjust the print-energy setting.
Note: Printers in this series retrieve the optimal print head heat setting from the chip on the media. This process will vary based on printer, refer to your printer user manual. Label settings reset to defaults when the printer is power cycled or materials are removed and reinstalled.
Caution: Consistently printing at high energy levels may cause printer jams or other printing errors and may reduce the overall life of your printhead.
