Print Head Energy
Thermal Transfer (THT) printers use a heating element to transfer ribbon material to a label surface. The amount of heat used during this process can be increased on most models of THT printers. This can be done to improve faint or spotty print.
Important: Adjusting print head heat or energy can decrease the life of the print head. If you are experience issues with poor print quality, refer to these articles before modifying default print head settings.
Note: Print head temperature settings are read from the media chip whenever the printer is power cycled or when new media is installed. This means custom print energy settings will not stay persistent.
Adjust Print Head Energy
- Create a label directly on the printer.
- With a label in the editor, select print on the LCD screen.
- Select Advanced Settings in the Print Dialog box.
- Select the Print energy square. Select OK.
