Operating your printer

How does the printer work?
The BradyJet J7300 Color Label Printer is a Brady-owned, high-performance system and material full-color inkjet solution that meets customers' needs for industrial color printing of signs, labels and tags. It connects to computers through wireless connectivity, ethernet or with the USB cord. Brady Workstation label creation software lets users easily create and print the labels they need. Brady Workstation files can be saved to the printer via USB flash dive that enables printing without a computer connected. 

What is included with the J7300 printer?
The J7300 comes with Brady Workstation Suites (either Safety and Facility ID, Product and Wire ID, or Laboratory), AC adapter, AC Adapter/Power Cord, USB C Cable, K and CMY Ink Cartridges, and Starter Alignment Media Roll. It also comes with a USB flash drive that contains the User Manual, Quick Start Guide, Windows Driver and Brady Print Utility Installation Guide in multiple languages.

What accessories are available?
Available accessories include: CMY Ink Cartridges with Built-in Printhead; K Ink Cartridge with Built-in Printhead; J-Align, Media Starter Roll 4' Wide.

Does the printer have Bluetooth?
No.

Does the printer have USB connectivity?
Yes. The printer can connect over USB C to a laptop or desktop computer for printing with Brady Workstation desktop or third party software. To connect to a computer via USB C, plug the provided USB cable into the printer and the computer. Brady Workstation software automatically detects the printer when connected.

How fast does it print labels?
The J7300 prints up to 1.2 inches per second, which compares to many industry printers' actual speeds.

What is the print quality?
The print quality is 4800 dpi.

How do I connect the printer to Brady Workstation?
Use Wireless, Ethernet or the USB cable to connect your printer to a computer with Brady Workstation software.

Is there a printer driver available?
Yes. The driver is available on BradyID: J7300 - Download the Driver & Print Utility.


What types of labels can I create in Brady Workstation?
Brady Workstation enables endless label design features for Brady materials used in the J7300. Brady Workstation features premade label layouts and specialty apps to enable efficient design of lockout tags, IIAR ammonia pipe markers, energy source isolation tags and much more. 


What advanced features exist with Brady Workstation?
Advanced features include predefined best-match regulatory color palettes for ANSI, GHS, BS 5609, ISO 3864 and expanded, customizable color palettes to meet regulatory and organizational standards that allow users to add their own colors. There is also an eyedropper control to select any color on the label to apply to any other object (example: match text color to company logo).

Will current inkjet printers be affected by Brady Workstation updates?
Yes, current BradyJet J2000 and J4000 users may see a color update when using the graphics library. The new color features are only available for the J7300.


Print Utility

What is the Brady Print Utility that is include with the J7300?
Is it a software tool to allow for administrative and additional functions. It is designed to allow remote troubleshooting, inform printer and material health, calculate average job costs and ink usage, and much more. Multiple printers can be connected to this tool: J7300 - Brady Print Utility.

How do I connect my printer to the Printer Utility and calculator?
Once the Print Utility is installed, it automatically talks to Brady Workstation or the Windows driver. The screen is typically minimized, but can be accessed through the computer's icon: J7300 - Download the Driver & Print Utility.


How many printers can be connected?
An unlimited number of printers may connect to the Print Utility concurrently. 

How does a user use print modes instead of saturation on the J7300? 
Saturation on many inkjet printers is an option for users to adjust the vibrancy of their output, but can cause many issues with ink bleed and trial error. Brady has taken the guesswork out of saturation by introducing Print Modes through Brady Workstation or the Windows driver that optimize the output. Different modes are Draft, Default, Vibrant and Precision: J7300 - Print Mode.



Label Materials

How do I know which materials work in my printer?
In order to provide technical specifications, improved customer experience and quality of output, Brady has developed materials specific to this printer. Any Brady part number that starts with J, JC, or JPSL will work with the J7300 printer. Any J20, J40 or J50 labels will not work with the J7300: J7300 - Ink and Label Compatibility Guide.


Will my existing J2000 or J4000 materials or inks work in the J7300 printer? 
No.

What types of labels are available for the J7300 printer?
There are 11 different types of material options, including: Outdoor Durable Vinyl and Polyester, BS5609 Compliant Material, Chemically Resistant Polypropylene and Polyester, UL approved Polyester, Tags, Paper and materials for temporary applications such as repositionable vinyl and magnetic material. Can I recycle the material plastics?
Yes. Easy recycle instructions can be found on the material packaging: J7300 - Recycle the Materials.


Why do LabelSense™ Technology and Brady Authentic materials mean for the J7300?
The J7300 Printer comes equipped with LabelSense™ technology. This multidirectional communication capability enables the printer to “talk” to J7300 inks and label cartridges that come equipped with smart-cell technology. The J7300 instantly recognizes the type of ink and label installed and automatically sets many formatting functions. Because inkjet inks and materials require a specific combination to meet TDS requirements, Brady designates these parts with the Brady Authentic logo. This reassures any user that they've got the right materials and inks for the J7300 Printer.


Support, Repairs and Warranty

What is the warranty period?
The J7300 Color Label Printer has a 2-year warranty: Inkjet / Refurbished Printers Warranty.


How do I upgrade the printer?
Users can upgrade printer firmware and Label Library by using a USB flash drive.

What routine maintenance should be done?
Routine maintenance includes upgrading firmware, updating printer label library values, cleaning the printer and recycling used label cartridges. Printers should be kept plugged in and can be in power save mode while ink cartridges are loaded so automatic maintenance can be performed by the printer: J7300 - Clean the Printer.
