Clean the J7300 Printer
Important: Always keep the printer plugged in and turned on. The printer will do periodic maintenance to help avoid the printheads from getting clogged.

Clean the following components:
Outer Case Clean the outer case of the printer with an isopropyl alcohol or soapy water and a lint-free cloth. Ink Cartridge
DO NOT use any cleaners, alcohols, or other solvents on the printheads. You may need to clean the ink cartridge printheads if you notice reduced print quality.
Tap Settings .
Tap Maintenance .
Tap Run for Clean Ink Cartridges.
After clean ink cartridge is complete, select Run for Print Test Label: J7300 - Print a Test Label
If the print quality is still an issue, a cartridge printhead may be slightly dried out or clogged. Continue the cleaning instructions below. Ink Cartridge Printhead
Gather two paper towels and one glass of water .
Fold the paper towels four times each .
Soak both paper towels for five seconds in the glass of water .
Remove the paper towels but do not squeeze out the excess water.
Remove the ink cartridge from the printer.
Place one of the paper towels on the printhead , press down, and then leave it for 30 seconds. This will wick away some of the additional ink.
Remove paper towel from the printhead and discard.
Lay the second paper towel on a flat hard surface.
Firmly press the printhead onto the paper towel and drag the cartridge down.
If you do not see all three colors on the paper towel (CMY cartridge only), repeat steps until all three colors are present.
Dry excess water from the printhead making sure the entire area is completely dry.
Important: Print damage may result if printhead contacts are not completely dry.
Repeat the process with the other ink cartridge.
Install both ink cartridges into the printer: J7300 - Install Labels and Ink Cartridges .
Tap Settings .
Select the Maintenance tab.
Select Run for Align Ink Cartridge .
Select Run for Clean Ink Cartridges .
Once finished, tap Run for Print Test Label: J7300 - Print a Test Label .
Label Tension Sensor Dust can build up on the Label Tension Sensor over time resulting in errors because the printer cannot detect the labels or position of the labels. Keep the label cover closed at all times to help avoid this.
Open the label cover and remove the label roll .
Use a can of compressed air to blow dust away from the Label Tension Sensor .
Replace the label roll and close the cover.
Touchscreen Use only a lint-free cloth dampened with isopropyl alcohol. Other cleaners may contain ammonia, soap or acids which can damage the screen.
Lightly moisten a soft (non-scratching) cloth with isopropyl alcohol or use a pre-moistened swab from the Brady Cleaning Kit (PCK-6 ).
Gently wipe the display screen until clean.
Remove excess isopropyl alcohol with a dry, soft (non-scratching) cloth.
Test Label
After cleaning the printer, print a test label: J7300 - Print a Test Label .
