Note: This article assumes you have created a template in Custom Designer. When creating a template in Custom Designer, data import options will not be displayed. You must save the template then open it in Print Partner. You do not need to use Print Partner and templates for data import, you can also simply import data directly into a label file: How to Import Excel Data into a Label File in Custom Designer.

Import Data to a Template Using Print Partner


 
  1. Open your Brady Workstation Template in Print Partner.
 
  1. Select Excel Import under Labeling Extras on the top of the screen.
Note: If you do not have the Extras buttons along the top (Excel Import, Sequence, Advanced Import, Advanced Sequence) and when you select Print you only see boxes to manually enter the data into the template fields, Prompt at Print may be enabled: BWS Print Partner - unable to import data into template - print screen only allows Data Entry.

  1. Press Select Excel File.
 

 
  1. Browse to and select your saved Microsoft Excel file.

  1. Select Open.
 
  1. Drag your column of data to the specific place holder text fields in your template.
 
Note: If the first row of your spreadsheet contains a header, select "Use first row as header".

 

 

 

 
Note: If the information does not import onto the label, refer to Print Partner - Why Can't I Add Data to My Template?

Select the Table dropdown if there are multiple sheets in your Excel file.
