Body
How to Do a Basic (text only) Data Import from Excel in Custom Designer

Note:  If you need to import any column from Excel into a barcode, or if you need to import data from another data source (not Excel), such as text files (*.txt, *.csv) or other type of database (*mdb, *.sql), you must use the Advanced Import function. Refer to How to Import Data as a Barcode in Brady Workstation and How Do I Import Data From a .CSV File into Brady Workstation?

If you are creating a Template in Custom Designer, you will not be able to import data until the file is opened in Print Partner: Print Partner - Import Microsoft Excel data.

  1. Create a Label File in Custom Designer or Custom Designer Lite.

  1. Select the Excel Import icon.

  1. If you have any objects (text, logo, barcode) that will stay the same on every label, set the static object to Show On Every Label.

In this example: "Part:" will stay the same on every label. In Label 1, select the text object, select Show on every label and select Apply. The Part Number will change on every label as this is imported from the Excel file. This will keep the setting Show only on this label.
