Remove and Reinstall Brady Workstation 

A complete reinstall ensures all installation files use the most up to date release, and the software is installed under an account with sufficient privileges. This process will not delete your label files, however it will clear the GHS parts database, custom parts and Data Automation channels. See instructions below to backup these items. This article does not cover transferring Brady Workstation to a new PC.

BWS Full Removal and Installation
 
  1. Backup the GHS Database (GHS App Users Only)
 
If you have the GHS app, removing the software will clear your chemical Database. See this article for steps to create a backup of the GHS chemical database: Brady Workstation - Creating a Backup of the GHS Database.
 
  1. Stop the Data Automation Service (Data Automation Users Only)

  • Close Brady Workstation if it is running
  • Navigate to the Start Menu and Type "Services,msc", run as admin
  • Locate Brady Data Automation in the list of running services 
  • Click on Stop on left (or right-click Brady Data Automation and select Stop)

  1. Back up Lockout Procedures (Lockout Writer users only How to Reinstall Lockout Writer on and transfer existing procedures to a New PC.
 
  1. (Optional) Backup Your Custom PartsBrady Workstation - Import and Export Custom Parts.
 
  1. Uninstall Brady Workstation from Programs & Features and Reboot your PC.
* Note If using Data Automation: uninstall Brady Data Automation from Apps & Features before uninstalling Brady Workstation.
* Note: If you receive "a program is still running" error when attempting to uninstall, stop the Bonjour print service and remove the Bonjour program: Brady Workstation Gives "A Program Is Still Running" Error During Removal or Installation.

  • In Windows Explorer, delete the following folders / files (if they exist):
    • c:\ProgramData\Brady Corp\Brady Workstation
    • c:\Program Files(x86)\Brady Corp\Brady Workstation (32 bit)
    • c:\Program Files\Brady Corp\Brady Workstation (64 bit)
    • c:\ProgramData\Brady Corp\Data Automation
    • c:\Program Files (x86)\Brady Corp\Data Automation
 
  1. Reboot your PC.
 
  1. Download and Install the latest version of Brady Workstation.

  • Navigate to workstation.bradyid.com Be sure to select just the Suite or App you have a license for, or want to try for a 30 Day Evaluation period.
  • Extract All files from the download and install Brady Workstation by right-clicking on Brady Workstation Setup.exe and selecting Run As Administrator.
