Summary of Steps
 
  1. Install the 30 day trial of your suite onto the new PC: Brady Workstation - How to Download and Install the Software and Apps from the Web.
  2. Initiate the license transfer process on the new PC.
  3. Take the created .lf file to the originally licensed PC.
  4. Export the license to the created .lf file from the originally licensed PC.
  5. Take the .lf file back to the unlicensed PC and import the license.

Transferring Your Suite or App License
 
  1. Launch the 30 day trial of Brady Workstation from the currently unlicensed computer.  Be sure you downloaded and installed the exact same Suite (or app if GHS or LOW) that you have a license for on another PC you will be taking. Click the gear icon and choose Transfer License.

  1. Select your License to Transfer from the drop down. Click Get Started and save the .lf file.

  1. Transfer the .lf file to a USB drive or network storage, you will now bring this file to the originally licensed PC. 

 
  1. Launch Brady Workstation from the original licensed computer. Click the gear icon and choose Transfer License.
 
Please note that you need to start the transfer on the "new" computer. The transfer wizard will only allow you to choose the button that is appropriate for the PC that you are on, i.e, if you are unable to choose step 1, it's because you are on the currently activated PC and need to switch to the new PC that you are moving the license to.

  1. Choose Step 2 Export License of the license transfer process. Navigate to the .lf file you have transferred from the currently unlicensed computer.
If you cannot click the "export license" button on your PC:
  • Custom Designer Lite users do not need to transfer a license, the app is free.
  • Make sure you are on the source computer, not the target computer.
  • Make sure you have selected your app or suite from the dropdown menu next to "License to transfer:"
  • Instead of performing the license transfer, you can deactivate the license using the self-service portal: Activate Your Brady Software License On a New PC After a Hard Drive Wipe or PC Crash.
 
  1. Take the .lf file and transfer it back to the unlicensed computer running the 30 day trial. From the Workstation home screen on the unlicensed computer, click the gear icon and choose "Transfer License".
 
  1. Select Step 3 Import License of the license transfer process, navigate to and select the .lf file to import.

Having Trouble With the License Transfer Process?

There are other methods to transfer your Brady Workstation license. If you've lost access to the PC with the original installation or cannot complete the transfer process for any reason, you can use the software self-service portal to recover the license:
