Body | IP Series/i5100 USB Communication IssuesThe Brady IP Printer and its next generation model i5100 printer each read an RFID Tag in "IP-Enabled" Brady Labels. These RFID tags communicate optimal print settings and other label information to the printer and software. This communication is accomplished using a technology called "bidirectional communication" or "bidi". This means the software communicates with the printer, and the printer communicates back to the software.

This technology provides many conveniences, however it also requires specific driver-to-printer assignment in order to function properly. Over a USB connection, this communication can be interfered with if multiple printers supporting bidi are connected to the same PC.
We recommend you can only have one of any of these printers attached via USB and any additional IP or i5100 printers should be networked.
If both printers are connected via USB, you may experience print issues: i5100 / IP - Series Driver Conflicts.Related information
