Issue
The BMP71 displays an "Out of Media" error.
Troubleshooting
- The label roll is empty – Replace the roll.
- The label core has counted down to ‘0’ (when using bulk material) – Replace the core.
As each of these cores has an individual counter, please change the core with each new box of bulk material to avoid this issue in the future: How to Load Bulk Label Material into the BMP71.
- Printer (especially platen roller and sensors) are dirty – Clean printer sensors and rollers: How to Clean the BMP71.
- Smart cell is programmed incorrectly – Replace the label roll. If this resolves the issue, contact your distributor or Brady rep for a possible material replacement.
- Firmware is out of date: How to Upgrade the BMP71 Firmware.
- Defective sensor or Main Board – If changing material and cleaning the printer do not solve the issue. Contact Brady Technical Support for your region:
