Issue
A user connects a printer via USB, however windows makes no visual or audible indication that a printer has been connected.
Troubleshooting
Make sure the USB cable has not been plugged into the network port:

On the PC side, make sure the USB cable is not connected to a docking station or USB hub:

Try another USB port and cable.
Power cycle the printer. Look at the Control Panel < Devices and Printers to verify if the printer displays. Unplug the cable and plug it back in to see if anything changes.
