The printer has been plugged into several USB ports in the tower (PC), but it never discovers a new device installed. Nothing shows up in device manager or in printers and devices.

How to Connect a USB Type B Cable

USB Type B is a common connection for label printers. The square end connects into the port on the back side of the printer. Connect the standard USB Type A end of the cable to your PC. The square (Type B) end will also fit into the ethernet port on the back of the printer, so make sure it is connected into the correct port.

Note: We have found that connecting to USB ports on docking stations can cause communication issues. Connect to a USB port directly on your PC for the most reliable connection - Connectivity Issues Caused by Docking Stations and USB Hubs
