Body | Issues with LabelMark Files in Custom Designer or Text LabelsLabel files created in Labelmark sometimes are not formatted correctly or work correctly in Brady Workstation if you just open the Labelmark file and save it. This leaves the original Labelmark file untouched and creates a new Brady Workstation file. They are totally different apps, with Labelmark being created 30 years ago, using some Windows functions that Microsoft no longer uses or supports. Brady's software development team is aware of ongoing issues with LabelMark 5 and 6 files in Brady Workstation (BWS) and are actively releasing fixes. - Unable to change label quantity using up/down arrows. Fixed, make sure BWS is Up To Date
- Label quantity is not saved. Fixed, make sure BWS is Up To Date
- View mode (single or multiple label) is not preserved, even after saving the file to the BWS format. Fixed, make sure BWS is Up To Date
- Brady Workstation freezes when an LM5 file is opened, especially with large files. Improved
- Lines of text (in Text Labels app) are not aligned correctly, text justification is not preserved. See ** below
- Data is missing - in Text Labels app, some lines of text are missing. See ** below
- The last label in the file is duplicated several or even hundreds of times. Fixed, make sure BWS is Up To Date
- The file suddenly contains hundreds of blank labels at the end Blank Rows in Excel Data Create Blank Labels.
- Text properties such as font and font style are changed. Either the font used in the Labelmark file is not installed on the PC with Brady Workstation. Install font. Or, See ** below
- "File is corrupt and cannot be opened" errors. In Windows File Explorer, right click on the Labelmark file name, select Properties, and make sure it is not set to Read Only and make sure the user or user's User Group has Modify rights.
- The label opens without issues, but the format is ruined if the user attempts to modify the part or printer associated with the label file. See ** below
** With the Labelmark file open in Brady Workstation:
- Click on the Document tab in the bottom half of the screen. If it only has a part name but no printer model listed, it was definitely a Labelmark file opened then saved in Workstation, be sure to do the following 3 steps.
- Click on Change Part or Printer button.
- Select the Printer and the label part in the printer: How to Change the Label Part or Printer in Brady Workstation.
Note: Some names and formats changed just a bit from Labelmark to Brady Workstation. If Line Count = Varies, enter the number of lines in whatever label in the file has the maximum number of lines.
- If all of the above does not resolve it, recreate the file in Brady Workstation.
LabelMark TemplatesIf you originally created a LabelMark template and then save it as a file, Brady Workstation creates it as a File. Some of the fields may not be able to be edited. You may need to delete the fields and recreate the file.
