The USB peripheral port is for a USB flash drive. This makes it possible to transfer saved label files from the printer's internal memory to a USB flash drive. Then you can either back the files up to a PC for archival purposes, or you can transfer the files from the USB flash drive to another printer. It is also used for updating the firmware of the printer on the BMP41, BMP51, BMP53, and M510.
The USB peripheral port is not meant for storing images or fonts on the printer; It is not possible to transfer an image file or a font to the BMP41 / BMP51 / BMP53 printer, except for the M510 printer. And you cannot transfer or store Labelmark or Brady Workstation files on the printer, except for the M510 printer: M510 / M710 - Save Files Created with Brady Workstation to the Printer.
