Issue

The A6500 / A5500 gives a "ribbon out" error even though plenty of ribbon is remaining. 


Troubleshooting
 
  1. Confirm the ribbon has been loaded correctly: Wraptor A6500 - How to load ribbon video and How to Load Materials into the A5500.
 
  1. This error may occur because of the ribbon sensor: How to Clean the A6500 Printer and How to Clean the A5500.
 
  1. On the A5500, there may be an issue with the smart cell of the ribbon. If available, try another ribbon. 
 
  1. Update the YB Parts Database for the A5500: A5500 - Update the Parts Database.
 
  1. If this does not resolve the issue, the ribbon clutch may have been damaged/failed or there may be an issue with the ribbon motor. Contact Brady Technical Support to setup a repair: Requesting a Repair Authorization for a Brady Benchtop Printer.
