Clean the A6500 Printer Applicator Perform the following cleaning routine when prompted to do so or at least every 5,000 labels. The Cycle Count is under Settings > Printing > Cycles. VIDEO Prepare the Printer for Cleaning
Select Load Supplies and then Load Supply on the LCD screen. This moves the print and wrap mechanisms back so the components are easier to clean.
Power off the printer.
Open the side door.
Remove the label and ribbon, making sure to release the label roll to avoid damaging the smart cell.
Clean the various parts of the printer:
Clean the Wrapper Surface
Open the clear door on the printer.
Use a swab from PCK-6 or a lint-free swab moistened with 90% isopropyl alcohol to clean the Wrapper Surface.
Push the black bar forward to access more of the Wrapper Surface.
Clean the other side of the Wrapper Surface.
Push the black bar back and close the front clear door.
Clean the Printhead
Use a swab from PCK-6 or a lint-free swab moistened with 90% isopropyl alcohol to clean the printhead.
Clean the Rollers There are three types of rollers:
Nip Rollers: S teel roller with yellow knobs that add pressure to the drive rollers to keep the label material from slipping. Guide Rollers : Stationary rollers that have a yellow guide ring which guide the material through the printer and keep the material taut. Dive Rollers: Rollers made of tacky black rubber which move the label material through the printer.
Use a swab from PCK-6 or a lint-free swab moistened with 90% isopropyl alcohol to clean each of the rollers.
Note: Drive rollers can advance manually for cleaning by turning the large pulley behind the label rewind hub. Use as many swabs as necessary.
Open the clear front door.
Use a swab from PCK-6 or a lint-free swab moistened with 90% isopropyl alcohol to clean all of the label adhesive from the serrated V-Roller inside the Wrapper. You may need to rotate the wrapper to access the v-roller.
Close the clear front door.
Clean the O-rings
Use Isopropyl alcohol and a lint-free swab to clean the O-rings on the Label Deflector.
Push the O-rings to the side to clean underneath. Push the O-rings back into the grooves once cleaning is complete.
Clean the Sensors
Open the side door of the printer.
Clean the Label Notch Sensor with a lint-free swab with isopropyl alcohol.
Clean the Wrapper Home Sensor located inside the front door to the right of the wrapper. You will need to rotate the wrapper so the opening is near the sensor.
Clean the Shutter Home Sensor located in the front of the printer mechanism.
Clean the Tilt Sensor located behind the printer mechanism on the upper right-hand side.
The Ribbon Out Sensor is located behind the ribbon path. This sensor should rarely require cleaning.
Clean the Fan Filter
Remove the Grate from the fan located on the back of the printer.
Remove the Filter from the Grate .
Clean the Filter by blowing clean air through it or washing it with a mild detergent and allowing it to dry.
Note: If the filter is damaged, order replacement filters on Bradyid.com .
Replace the clean Filter in the Grate.
Snap the Grate back in place over the fan.
