Note: If your driver install does not launch, make sure you have sufficient rights: Microsoft UAC - Run as Admin. If the driver install still does not launch, reach out to your IT admin or attempt to manually install using the driver INF file: How to access the inf file to manually install Brady printer drivers.

Installing the i5100 Driver
 
Note: Currently, the driver is compatible with Windows 7, 8, 10 and 11.
 
  1. Download the driver from BradyID by selecting Begin Download.

  1. Open the file location.
 
  1. Right-click and choose Extract All.

  1. Choose the extracted file location and select Extract.

  1. Double-click the extracted folder.
 
  1. Right-click the executable and choose Run as administrator.

  1. Choose your language and select Next.

  1. Ensure printer is not connected via USB, and click Install.

  1. Choose your DPI model and click Next.

  1. If connecting via USB, choose the USB option and click Next. See below for networking settings.

  1. Connect the printer via USB, power the printer on, and click Next.

  1. Wait while printer checks printing status. Click Next and Finish to complete the driver installation.
Note: If you receive the "Checking printer status failed" error: Brady Printer Drivers - Checking Printer Status Failed.
 
Networking

Note: Before continuing, you should configure your printer for a static or DHCP address from the touch screen: How to Network the i5100
 
  1. Choose the Wireless or Ethernet Network connection option.

  1. Ensure printer is powered on, connect it to your network, and click Next.

  1. Enter your printer's IP address or Hostname. This can be viewed from the printer touch screen under Settings > Info. Click Next.

  1. Enter the name of your printer and click Next.

  1. Wait for installation to complete, click Next, and then Finish.

Note: After installing the driver it may be necessary to enable driver security permissions: Printer Drivers - Enable Driver Security Permissions.
