Create a Template in Text Labels
 
  1. Select Text Labels.

  1. Double-click Blank Template.

  1. Adjust Print Options and Label Properties, as needed.

Static and Placeholder Fields in the Template Text Menu
 
  1. Click on the label. 
 
  1. Select Object. 
 
  1. Select Placeholder, Pick List or Static under Text Object Types.

  • Placeholder fields accept imported or manually-entered data when the template is opened in Print Partner, variable fields can change from label to label. 
  • Pick List provides a list to select from in Print Partner. 
  • Static Text is locked. It is identical on every label and cannot be moved or adjusted in Print Partner. 
In this example, the Serial field should remain the same on every label, however the serial numbers should be unique on every label. The placeholder field will accept the serial number from imported or manually entered data.
 
  1. If you select Placeholder or Pick List, you have the option to enter Instruction Text. This will display when the line is selected in Print Partner.

  1. For each line, select Text to configure the following formatting options: 
  • Font
  • Font Size
  • Text Color
  • Expand/Condense Text
  • Line Spacing
  • Text Alignment
  • 6 and 9 underline

  1. Click Save. Enter the name of the file and location. 
 


Opening Templates in Print Partner

 
Note: You cannot make edits to the template from Text Labels while it is open in both applications.
 
  1. Select Print Partner.
 
  1. Browse to and select your template using any of the 3 options. Click Open.
Note: The Template files are saved to C:\Users\Public\Documents\Brady Corp\Brady Workstation by default. If you are unsure if the default location changed, refer to Brady Workstation - Default File Location.
 
  1. Placeholder or Pick List fields will have a blue box around them. Select the blue box to enter in information. You can manually type in information or select one of the Labeling Extras: Advanced Import, Advanced Sequence, Excel Import and Sequence.
As of Print Partner version 3.26.0.3, you are unable to save your template in Print Partner. 
 
  1. Select Print.
