Print Multiple Copies of a Label in Data Automation This workaround addresses the following requirements:
- Specify multiple label copies to be printed in a Data Automation print job.
- Set different quantities for individual labels in a Data Automation print job.
- The header can be called anything (Copies, Quantity, Number, etc).
In the picture below the Header is called Copies (framed in red color.) You can enter the number of copies on each individual line of the text or csv file.
- In the Data Automation Channel created for a specific template, on the Mapping tab there is a section for Optional Field Controls. Assign the Label Copies field to the corresponding field / column name in your text file.
It will then print the desired amount of each label based on the number in the Label Copies field.
The Printer Name should be the Windows name of the printer. If the printer name is not consistent, uninstall and reinstall the driver (How to Install the i3300 Driver). Once the driver is installed, name the printer to match Windows. Note:
- We have observed an issue in DA 2.7.0.1 where the specified label copies were ignored in specific label templates. This issue is resolved by recreating the label template.
- In DA 2.8.0.3 we observed an issue where a DA ignored a user's label copies column. This issue is fixed in the December 2020 update: How to Update Brady Workstation.
