S3100 Ribbon and Label Materials

The S3100 uses proprietary cartridge ribbon and label materials. These form factors allow for simple drop-in loading of supplies. The cartridges have a microchip that communicates label dimensions, print speed, print head heat, material type, and media remaining to the printer. This means the user does not need to manually configure printer settings for each new roll.

Material Cross-Compatibility

The S3100 shares material compatibility* with the BBP30, BBP31, BBP33, S3000, i3300, i5300, BBP35 and BBP37. Third party (non-Brady) materials will not work in this printer.

*Some exceptions apply, see below section.

Compatibility Exceptions

"PWID" materials are exclusive to the i3300/BBP33/i5300, check the part number's product page on BradyID or the label cartridge for printer compatibility.
Several continuous media part numbers supported in the i3300, S3100 and S3000 printer models will not work in the discontinued BBP30, BBP31 and BBP33 printer models - Brady Printers - Error 51, Printer Backfeeds with Error 55
Very old BBP30/33/31 materials will not work in the S3100. See: S3100 and i3300 - Error 49, Error 66 or Error 51 “Invalid Supply” or “Invalid Ribbon”
