S3100 - How to Load Ribbon and Label Materials

Loading Labels and Ribbon in the S3100

 
 

1. Open the enclosure cover (opens from left).

2. Release the latch on the ribbon-cover and open.

3. Open the media guides to full-open.

4. Insert the labels so the spindle ends rest in slots of the media holder.

5. Feed the media from the top of the roll until it sits just past the middle of the platen roller.

6. Close the media guides until they touch the edge of the media liner with the media under the guides.

7. If using continuous material, use the Wiper Bar: Are all labels on a roll considered "Continuous"? No, if separate labels on the roll liner, they are "Die-Cut". In the image below, die-cut labels are installed and the wiper bar is not used. 

8. Insert the ribbon cartridge over the printhead. There is a Brady logo on the inside of the printer and the ribbon cartridge. Insert the ribbon cartridge to match the Brady logos. 

9. Close the ribbon-cover.

 

10. Close the enclosure cover until you hear it click into place.
