S3100 / BBP31 / BBP35 / BBP37 / BBP85 / S3700 - How to Save a File to External USB Memory
Body
Backing Up Label Files to External Storage
You can save a file internally on the BBP31, BBP35, BBP37, BBP85, S3100 and S3700 printers or on an external device (such as a thumb drive). The saved file retains the label data, data attributes, and alignment parameters. The saved file can then be shared or transferred to another printer of the same model, or one of the others listed in the title if they share the same firmware base. It also allows you to backup your files if you need to send your printer in for repair to prevent the accidental loss of your files if the mainboard has to be replaced.
Note: At this time there is no functionality that allows saving Brady Workstation or MarkWare files to the printer's local / internal memory. Files created on the printer touch screens cannot be opened in Brady Workstation (MarkWare software is obsolete and no longer supported).
Saving Label Files to USB Flash Drives
Plug your USB flash drive into one of the USB ports on the printer.
Select Menu.
Select Save File.
Select External USB.
Note: If the printer does not recognize your USB stick, try formatting as FAT (this will erase everything on the USB drive). You may also want to try a USB drive with smaller capacity.
Select OK.
Open the Label Files from External USB:
Insert the USB flash drive into the printer.
Select Menu.
Select Open File.
Select External USB.
Select the file. As soon as you select the file it will open.
Cross-printer File Compatibility Information:
Files created on any of these models are cross-compatible. For example, you can open a file created by an S3100 on a BBP37. The saved file can be shared or transferred to one of these other printer models, as they share the same firmware base.
You are able to open S3700 files on the BBP37 and BBP37 files on the S3700.
Exceptions: Labels created using the Gradient scale or Circle Gauge apps can only be opened on BBP37 or S3700. Also, objects set to cut will only work on the BBP37 or S3700 printer, which has a plotter cutter allowing the ability to cut out shapes and text.
Printer Storage Capacities:
The BBP31 has an internal memory of 56MB storage space for saving label files.
The S3100 has 250MB of storage space for saving label files.
The BBP35 and BBP37 series models have roughly 250MB of storage space for saving label files.
The S3700 printer has roughly 200MB of storage space for saving labels.
The BBP85 model has roughly 770MB of storage space for saving label files.
