COM and LPT Ports are Missing in Windows 10
- Launch Device Manager.
- Select Action.
- Select Add Legacy Hardware.
- Select Next.
- Choose Install the hardware that I manually select from a list (Advanced).
- Scroll down and select Ports (COM & LPT) and select Next.
- Select Communications Port and select Next.
- Select Next.
- Select Finish.
- The COM ports item will now display in Devices and Printers.
If there is a triangle next to Communications Port, right-click the line and select Properties.
Device status under the General tab will provide more information.
