Body | Issues with B-593 Material in the IP Series and I5100 PrintersWe do not recommend using raised panel media in combination with any non-black colored ribbon.WorkaroundsMethod 1: In some cases the user can set the printer to calibrate to the gap between raised panel material. Note that many non-keyhole versions of THTEP-593 will already automatically calibrate to the gap sensor.
Note: In newer firmware versions the printer will override manual settings in favor of data read from the media RFID tag. It may be necessary to remove the RFID tag in order to force Standard mode, which allows manually configured user settings to persist.
Method 2: Move the sliding media sensor to the center of the labels. This may caused the notch sensor to act as a "gap" sensor.
3. (BWS Users Only) Create a custom part in Label Settings using the stock part, then set the sensor to gap: Brady Workstation - How to Add Custom Parts with the Label Settings AppMethod 3:
Users can order custom labels (custom pricing applies) with a black outline printed around the notch on the back of the liner--this can alleviate the problem but print on the label can be misaligned by up to a mm or two. User may have to use XY offset setting to adjust for this. We recommend testing this prior to purchase:
