"No labels detected" displays on the printer.

No labels detected

Cause
 
  • The smart cell on the label roll is not detected. No label roll is installed, or the roll is improperly installed so that the smart cell does not align with the reader.
  • The leading edge of the labels or the notch between labels is not detected. The label supply has run out or is improperly installed.
  • M7, M7C, BM7 or BM7C material is not installed.

Troubleshooting
 
  1. Install, replace, or reinstall the labels, making sure that the smart cell is properly aligned and that the label supply covers the sensors: M710 - Load Labels and Ribbon.
 
Important: Bulk label cores CANNOT be re-used. When installing bulk labels, replace the core for each new box of labels. DO NOT swap label cores between boxes of labels: BMP61 / M610 / M611 / BMP71 / M710 - Best Practices When Using Bulk Media.
 
  1. Only labels with the part numbers M7, M7C, BM7 and BM7C will work in the M710 printer: BMP61 / M610 / M611 / BMP71 / M710 - Naming Conventions and Compatible Labels and Ribbons and Portable Printers - Brady Authentic Labels.
 
  1. Verify the printer has the latest Printer Label Library: M710 - Update the Printer Label Library.
