Body | Metallized Polyester Labels will not read in printer or from softwareThe metallized polyester labels do not contain the RFID tag because the Metallized material blocks the printer's ability to read the RFID tag on the inner core of the material. RFID tags are not missing from these materials, and they will not be made for these materials.
As a result of Metallized materials not containing an RFID tag, the printer will power on and state "No Media Detected". This is NOT an error. It is the IP or i5100 printers way of indicating that there is no RFID tag detected.
The printer is still capable of printing on these labels. The printer will display a large letter "S" on the screen. This is an indication that the printer cannot detect the RFID tag. Other manufacturers do not put RFID tags in their materials, so other manufacturers materials will cause the IP/i5100 printers to display this way.
When using the IP or i5100 printer with Brady Workstation or LabelMark (Obsolete) software, the "Select from Printer" will NOT work since the metallized material does not have the RFID tag.
