Allows new part compatibility
Allows new ribbon and label combination compatibility
Determines feed settings for parts should be torn off, fed to the cutter, or contains a perforations
Why should I update my BMP61 Printer Label Library files?
The printer displays "invalid media" or other media errors.
Your printer is not detecting a custom part.
Your printer is not detecting a part listed as compatible on BradyID.
Your labels are printing light when using the correct ribbon and label combination.
Download the latest Printer Label Library file on your computer.
Right click and choose Extract all.
Double-click the M611_BMP61_Y_B_Database extracted folder.
Copy the Excel and BIN file from the extracted folder to the flash drive. They must be in the root of the flash drive, not within a folder.
Remove the flash drive and insert it into your BMP61.
The printer will detect the Excel and BIN files, and prompt your upgrade. Select upgrade and hit enter.
Choose Yes and hit the enter key on the next prompt.
A screen will display, prompting to delete files on external media. This simply removes the Excel and BIN from your flash drive after the update is complete. If you have additional BMP61 printers to update, consider leaving these files on your drive.
Turn the printer off, then remove the flash drive. Turn the printer back on.
IMPORTANT: The printer will continue to try to update the firmware if you do not remove the flash drive.
On power up, press FN + Setup and navigate to Config to confirm the YB database has been updated.
Turn on BMP61 printer and connect it to your computer via a USB cable.
Open Brady Workstation on your computer.
Select Printer Updates tab.
Your BMP61 should show in the Brady Printers section. Click the Update button.
Select Update Now on the Printer Label Library tab. Select OK to confirm the update.
Important: Make sure the printer is plugged in so that the printer does not shut off during the update. Do not unplug the USB cable or printer power cable.
