Setup the S3100 for WiFi Direct

A WiFi Direct connection allows the printer to communicate wireless directly with a PC, this method may be useful when the S3100 cannot be authenticated to your network. Enabling WiFi Direct disconnects any currently connected WiFi connection. 
 
Note: The default password for WiFi direct is 1234567890.
 
  1. Select Menu.
 
  1. Select Setup.

  1. Select Wi-Fi.
 
  1. Next to Wi-Fi Connection, select the Enabled check box.

  1. Select Wi-Fi Direct.

  1. Next to WiFi Direct Connection, select the Enabled check box. The printer displays its IP address and network name. When you connect to the printer from your computer or mobile device, you will select this name or IP address.

  1. Enter a password for the Wi-Fi Direct network. This is the password you will enter from your computer or mobile device when you connect to the printer.

  1. Tap OK.
