BBP31 and S3100 Material Compatibility
The S3100 and BBP31 share the same media format and the firmware of each printer recognizes the same smart cell data. This means there is nearly 100% cross compatibility in regards to ribbon and label materials, with some exceptions:
Very Old Label Media - Very old BBP31 material with a white label without V2 may contain chips with programming that the S3100 cannot recognize. The majority of these materials are from 2016 and older, which is beyond the 2 year shelf life of most Brady label material. Aggressive Adhesive 4" Continuous Media - Several 4" continuous materials with aggressive adhesive properties are no longer compatible with the BBP31. It was the discovered that the BBP31 cutter did not have sufficient power to consistently cut this media. The S3100 has an improved cutter that can cut this media reliably.
