Dynamically Import Graphics in Print Partner

This article follows a template workflow requiring Print Partner to perform the dynamic graphic data entry. See this article to use Dynamic Graphic Import directly in Custom Designer: Dynamic Graphic Import in Custom Designer

Setup Data for Dynamic Graphic Import

1. Create a folder containing all your images.

2. Setup your spreadsheet and template to point the software to your image folder. There are two methods to accomplish this.

Method 1: Configure two parameters:

  • Setting the directory location of your image files in your template in Custom Designer
    • Note: For best results, use PNG, JPG or SVG image file formats.
  • Entering the image file names into a column on your spread sheet
  • Tip: See this article if you need to enter a lot of image file names - How to Copy Multiple Image Filenames Within a Folder
Add image names to the Excel spreadsheet

Method 2: You can enter the complete file path in your spreadsheet instead of simply adding the image name. This method does not require specifying the file path in your template

Create a variable graphic field on your template in Custom Designer

2. Select the directory location of the graphics.

Choose default image directory of graphics

3. Save the template and open it in Print Partner.

Changing the Default Directory for Images in Print Partner

If you need to point to a new location for your image files, you can simply designate a new default directory. Modifying the image names in the spreadsheet is not required as long as the image names do not change. These steps do not apply if you used Method 2 and entered the entire image path into your spreadsheet.

1. Click the Browse button in the Excel Import tab.

Update the default image directory referenced by your data

2. Navigate to the new directory and click OK.

Update the folder where your graphics are stored
