Body | Issue
- The BMP61 displays an "incompatible media" error when attempting to print labels.
- The BMP61 says it is out of ribbon even though the user has installed a brand new ribbon.
- The BMP61 prompts the user to replace the ribbon or labels.
Troubleshooting
- In most cases this is because the ribbon installed does is not compatible with the labels installed. The BMP61 typically ships with an R4300 ribbon, but this ribbon is not compatible with all label materials:
- If the labels installed cannot accommodate the chosen application requirements, (E.g. attempting to run a 110-Block application on Die Cut media) you may receive an error message that reads "Incompatible Media for chosen application". To correct this issue, install the correct label/media type for your chosen application.
- In some instances, this error can be caused by an outdated YB parts database. We have observed this error occur when attempting to open a label file saved to the printer's memory. Update the YB parts database: How to Update the YB Parts Database on the BMP61.
If the error continues, contact Global Brady Technical Support Contact Information. |
