This can happen if the batteries are low. The printer doesn't have enough power to save the new data entry. Replace the batteries with six new AA alkaline batteries.

Note: Do not use Lithium, heavy duty, rechargeable, Carbon Zinc or mixed manufacturers' batteries with the BMP21 printer. Only standard AA Alkaline batteries are recommended.
