Disable Syntax Errors
Note: If you're unable to clear the error from the screen, disconnect the printer from it's USB/network connection, then disconnect power to the printer. Power the printer back up with the USB/network cable still disconnected, then perform the steps below.
- On i7100/i5100 printer's LCD display, Home page, click on the gray Gear icon (a circle with dots on it).
- On new screen, click on Settings (gear icon again).
- On new screen, click on red "Errors" icon (which contains a triangle with an exclamation point in it).
- On new screen, tap to uncheck the Syntax Error option.
- Press the Home icon in the top right, to save and exit the menu.

Script Errors
- If you still get the error, that means that the printer received an unknown or invalid command from the computer. Press Ignore to skip the command or press Cancel to cancel the print job.
- Data sent to the printer may have included strings of characters that match jscript commands (jscript, not Java Script, is the printer language the i5100 & i7100 printers speak). For example, if text on a label includes "esc " and followed by other data not used with the esc command (esc c ) then it gives the error, letting the user know it does not understand what to do.
Printer-PC Connection
- Syntax errors (S0,0.00,...9,4.19 & M<-?) can occur if the printer is plugged into a docking station, USB splitter, USB adapter, or any hardware that sites between a direct USB connection between the printer and PC.
- Power the printer on and off.
- Clear out the print queue.
