Note: Frequent jams indicate adhesive buildup or label debris has accrued in the printing and cutting mechanisms. Proper preventative maintenance can mitigate this: How to Clean the i5300 Printer. Clearing Printer Jams
 
  1. Remove all damaged ribbon and/or labels from the printer.
  2. Check that there is no damage to the printhead, cutter blades, sensors, etc.
  3. Check whether any cleaning is needed. If cleaning is required, see: How to Clean the i5300 Printer.
  4. Reload ribbon and labels and clear all error messages.

Clearing Cutter Jams
 
  1. Cut the supply as shown below.

  1. Squeeze the tabs to release and tilt the cutter module forward and down.

  1. Rotate the cutter gear counter-clockwise to lower the blade.

  1. Remove the supply.
 
  1. Rotate the gear clock-wise until the blade is no longer visible.
 
  1. Lift the enclosed side of the cutter housing until it snaps into its original position as shown below.
