Body | IssueThe i3300 gives a "print head door is open" error. CauseThis error occurs when the sensor doesn't detect that the yellow latch for the print head assembly is fully locked into place. This error can also occur if the cutting mechanism is not clicked into place. Location of print mechanism latchTroubleshootingYou can try and push down on the print head assembly ( just above the LCD screen that is displaying the error) to see if you can get it to click shut. It's normal for it to bounce in and back out slightly once it is latched. If this doesn't fix it, it is possible there is an issue with the latch pins that hold the print head assembly closed so that the printer is able to feed and print labels properly.
Also make sure the cutting mechanism has clicked into place. The two yellow spring tabs should make an audible snap when the cutter locks into place. Location of cutter spring tabsIf the printer is unable to secure the latch properly, the printer may need to be sent in for service.
