Issue

Graphics print as solid black boxes, this occurs even when users follow proper considerations for printing color from a THT printer as outlined in this article: Can I Print Color Graphics On My Brady Label Printer?

Cause

This is not a Brady printer or software problem. It is due to a Microsoft Windows Update released in March 2021. Many companies do not apply Windows updates for weeks or months after release, if at all, that is why some people encounter the problem while others do not.

How to Check if a Windows Update (KB) is Installed on your Computer

1. Open Settings and click Update & Security.
2. Click View update history. The update history page shows the list of updates installed on your computer.
3. Scroll through the list and find the specific update ( KBnnnnnn ) you're looking for. In this case KB5000802.

Resolution

End users should reach out to their IT administrator to either roll back the Windows update or update to a released patch that resolves this issue. Windows released KB5001567 to resolve printing issues introduced in KB5000802.

Microsoft has also released KB5001566 for users who are still on Windows version 1909.
