M610 - How to Update the Firmware 
 
Important: The printer must be plugged in to an AC outlet during a firmware upgrade. Do not interrupt printer power during an upgrade.

Only upgrade the firmware as a last step. If the firmware upgrade does not work, contact Global Brady Technical Support Contact Information.

You are able to upgrade the firmware multiple ways:

Upgrade Firmware using Brady Workstation
 
  1. Turn on the M610 Label Printer. 
 
  1. Use the USB cord to plug in your M610 Label Printer into your computer. 
 
  1. Open Brady Workstation. 
 
  1. Select Printer Updates.

  1. Search for your printer in the list and select Upgrade. If Upgrade is not available, select More Actions.

  1. Select Update Now to upgrade the firmware. 
 
Upgrade using a USB Drive
 
  1. Open Brady Workstation. 
 
  1. Select Printer Updates.

  1. Search for your printer in the list and select Upgrade. If Upgrade is not available, select More Actions.

  1. Connect the USB to your computer if you are downloading the Firmware directly to the USB. 
 
  1. Select Download to save the firmware on your computer to use later or with a USB Drive.
Note: If you are unable to access the Printer Updates in Brady Workstation. Find the most recent M610 Label Printer firmware upgrade on Bradyid and transfer the file to a USB Drive.
 
  1. Select the file location to save the Firmware file and select OK.

  1. Wait for the Firmware to download.

  1. Select OK.
 
  1. Connect the USB Drive to the M610 printer.
 
  1. Press the Enter button to select Upgrade on the M610 printer.

  1. Press Enter on the M610 to select Yes.

  1. After the firmware updates, remove the USB drive and restart the printer.
  
Upgrade using a Computer Connection

Note: This process cannot be done currently since the file is not on BradyID. 
 
  1. Use the USB cable to connect the printer to a computer with an Internet connection.
 
  1. Find and download the most recent M610 Label Printer firmware upgrade on Bradyid.
 
  1. Download and run the .msi file.
 
  1. After the installation is complete, open the Start menu on the computer and go to Brady Corp/M610 Firmware Upgrade Utility.
 
  1. Follow the instructions on the screen. When the upgrade is complete, the printer restarts.
