Create a Barcode on the M510The barcode button only inserts a barcode onto the label. If you want to set specific settings to the barcode, follow the instructions in the Barcode Setup section below.
Add a Barcode to the Label
- Press the barcode button.
- Enter the data for the barcode.
Barcode Setup
- Press Label.
- Use the navigational arrows to highlight Barcode.
- Press Enter.
- Use the navigational arrows to highlight the barcode options. Press Enter to expand the dropdown and use the navigational arrows to highlight the corresponding option and press Enter to select it.
- Symbology - Barcodes available on the M510: Code 39, Code 128, Data Matrix, EAN 8, EAN 13, Interleaved 2 of 5, QR Code, UPC-A, UPC-E. More barcode types are available in Brady Workstation: Custom Designer - How to Create a Basic Barcode.
- Height - Use the number keys to enter the height of the barcode in inches. Minimum height is 0.1 inch (2.54 mm).
- Bar Width - This option is not available for all barcodes. The bar width changes the thickness of the bars and spaces within the barcode, which in turn lengthens or shortens the barcode.
- Ratio - The relationship of narrow elements to wide elements, where elements are the bars and spaces.
- Human Readable - Data entered that makes up the barcode that can be placed above or below the barcode, or none.
- Check Digit - Highlight the Check Digit checkbox and press Enter to select Check Digit.
- Once you enter all information, use the navigational arrows to highlight OK. Press Enter.
- Press the back arrow once.
