Body | Cleaning the J1000 Cartridge NozzlesIf there is a clog, heavy cleans can actually exacerbate the problem rather than fix it.
1) Take the cartridge out of the printer and then grab a paper towel and dampen it with water. 2) Cover the print head nozzles with the damp towel and shake the cartridge for 5-10 seconds. 3) Check to see if you have ink saturating the towel that covered the print head. 4) On a clean but damp section of the dampened towel, brush the cartridge nozzles along it to clean out the nozzles. 5) If you don't see a nice and dark ink streak on the paper towel, repeated this process.
It is possible that isopropyl alcohol use to clean the nozzles is drying out up in the cartridge and temporarily making this worse. We don't recommend using alcohol unless the nozzles are severely dry (such as sitting out of the printer or on the printer when it is off for an extended period of time).See Also
