Load Bulk Labels in the BMP71 and M710

Note: The M710 printer requires Authentic Media: Portable Printers - Brady Authentic Labels.

  1. Remove the label core and label feed ramp from the box.
Note: The bulk core contains a chip with a counter, it cannot be reused with other boxes. When the bulk media runs out, discard the label spool and feed ramp. Recycle accordingly. Refer to BMP61 / M610 / M611 / BMP71 / M710 - Best Practices When Using Bulk Media.

To verify you have the correct core for the box of labels, verify the lot numbers match:

  1. Open the printer and insert the label core making sure the smart cell on the label roll aligns with the reader in the label well.

  1. Pull the loose end of the bulk label supply out of the box punch-out and thread over the tray and into the bulk label feed path on the printer.

  1. Continue to feed the leading edge of the label roll under the core. Insert the loose label end up to the black line under the ribs, making sure that the label material covers the sensors and that the edge of the label supply roughly aligns with the side of the label well.

  1. Turn the printer on and press FEED to feed the label supply through the printer.

  1. Close the cover.
Important: Be sure to store the core with any remaining unused labels when you are done printing. The printer uses the smart cell on the core to track how many labels are remaining. Always use the core that came with the labels otherwise the printer may present an out of labels error message.
