Body | The print head applies pressure against the labels as they travel across the platen roller. Platen roller wear can contribute to faint print. It is common for end users to compensate for this by increasing print head temperature, which can shorten the life of the print heat.
Platen roller wear occurs on the section of the roller that comes into frequent contact with the labels. Look for concave "dips" in the horizontal profile of the roller. This image shows the location of the platen roller on the PR series printer model, excess wear is not visible in this example.See Also
