Troubleshooting

Cleaning

Adhesive buildup on the media sensors can cause this error:

The Media is Not Loaded Correctly

Make sure the media front edge is placed in the middle of the black roller, also check the position of the yellow media guides: i3300 - How to Load Labels and Ribbon
  • Note: In some cases loading the material just past the roller resolved the error. Contact Technical Support of the media repeatedly feeds down into the printer in the gap between the roller and cutter chute.

Custom Label Materials

Some custom clear media cannot be read by the sensors. To confirm if the issue is isolated to a single roll, try loading a different part number or non-custom media.

Firmware

In some instances this error was resolved by updating the i3300 to the latest firmware: How to Upgrade the Firmware on the i3300

Sensor Failure or a Sensor Cannot Read the Notches or Gaps

Load a material that uses a different sensor such as continuous, notched, or gapped media. In some cases custom materials could not be read by a specific sensor inside the printer. If your printer works with some media types but not others,
contact Technical Support.
