Body | Which Printers Are Supported in Data Automation?Data Automation can send print jobs to any printer with an installed driver, however some Brady printers offer unique functionality that is not supported or leveraged in Data Automation. Data Automation is intended to automate the label printing process, so printers and settings that inherently require a user to perform an action during print jobs (such as manually tearing off labels or "Print on Demand") are not well suited for Data Automation.
Bidirectional communication - Data Automation will not tell the user if they have the wrong ribbon color or an incompatible ribbon/label combination. It will also not prompt the user to swap ribbons when printing color. For this same reason Data Automation only supports monochrome (single color) printing.
Cutting - Data Automation may ignore cutting settings such as "after each label" or "after each print job".
Double Sided Printing (Non-BBP72 Printers) - Data Automation will not prompt the user to flip sleeves when printing double sided.
J1000 - The J1000 can only load 2 printable cards at a time. For this reason, using Data Automation is not practical.
Wraptor/A6500/A5500 - Data Automation will ignore driver configurations that apply a naming scheme to jobs sent to these printers. This means each subsequent job will overwrite the previous job. For this reason it is not possible to send multiple print jobs to these printers using Data Automation. |
