The BMP71 may only print a partial label if the battery power is low. Larger label types will cause the print head to draw more power. If the power exceeds what the battery is capable of providing, the printer will shut off.
Resolution
Plug the AC power adapter into the printer. Make sure the adapter is firmly seated in the port on the printer. Ensure the adapter is plugged into a known-working outlet.
If the printer continues to shut off even after fully charging the batteries, you may need to replace the rechargeable battery.  See Also
