Body | BMP71 - Head Over Temp ErrorIssueThe BMP71 displays a "head over temp" error while printing or attempting to print labels.
Cause
A "Head Over Temp" message occurs when the print head has reached its maximum operating temperature. This can occur when the printer is used for high-volume printing beyond its recommended 1,000 labels per day: BMP71 Technical Specifications.Troubleshooting
- To correct this issue, let the printer cool down for approximately 10 minutes and then resume the print job.
- Power off the printer and remove the battery. Insert the battery and power the printer back on.
- The BMP71 is rated for 1,000 labels/day. Consistent usage beyond this specification can cause print head temperature errors. If you require more than 1,000 labels per day, a benchtop printer model may be more appropriate for your printing needs.
- The printer will need to be repaired if you consistently see this error, contact Brady Technical Support for your region Global Brady Technical Support Contact Information to set up a repair: Requesting a Repair Authorization for a Brady Portable Printer.
